"I joined Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole as an Accounting Manager In Training, after graduating in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management, with a minor in Finance, from the University of Denver.
I had interned at another hotel company while still in university, and had the intention of working for them after graduation. My college advisor, however, recommended that I talk to Four Seasons. It was an eye opener to learn about how Four Seasons values its employees and their training. Particularly appealing was the company’s practice of not attaching an exact length of time to a training programme, but instead, being dedicated to helping me succeed.
After completing initial accounting/finance training, I spent time in every department of the Resort. This cross-training provided a better understanding of hotel operations when I continued to develop my accounting specific skills. With the untiring support of my managers throughout a well-structured MIT programme, I was promoted to Staff Accountant after 12 months."
